Specification for installation of expansion joints of large tie rods

The installation specification of large tie rod expansion joint mainly involves the following aspects:

  1. Determine the installation location: Large tie rod expansion joints should usually be installed at the elbow or bracket of the pipe to ensure that the tie rod can adjust the shape of the pipe. At the same time, the installation position should take into account the expansion and contraction of the pipe so that the expansion joint can expand and contract freely.

  2. Choosing the Right Material: The tie rods and bolts of large tie rod expansion joints should be made of corrosion-resistant and high-strength stainless steel or carbon steel materials to ensure their long-term stability and reliability.

  3. Preparation before installation: Before installation, the wall or bracket should be carefully inspected for cracks, and the wall should be reinforced at the position of poor quality to avoid loosening of the tie rod. At the same time, appropriate fixing frame and expansion screw should be selected to ensure the stability of the large tie rod.

  4. Installation Steps

  • Determine the installation position of the expansion joint and install the bracket in the corresponding position.

  • According to the size and shape of the expansion joint, select the appropriate tie rods and bolts and install the nuts.

  • Use a wrench or torque wrench to tighten the bolts one by one according to the specified torque value.

  • Check the tension of each tie rod and adjust the tension difference so that it is evenly distributed.

  • Check the tightness of the bolts and tie rods to make sure they meet the requirements.

  1. Precautions

  • The bellows should be protected during installation, and the bellows should not be damaged.

  • For the expansion joint with guide sleeve, the direction of diversion shall be consistent with the direction of flow of the medium.

  • After installation, the pre-tension rod and the transport fixing rod should be removed to compensate for the expansion and contraction of the pipeline when the ambient temperature changes.

  • The support must meet the design requirements. It is strictly prohibited to test the pressure in the pipeline before the support is installed to avoid pulling the expansion joint.

Following the above installation specifications can ensure the correct installation and stable operation of the large tie rod expansion joint, prolong its service life, and improve the safety and reliability of the pipeline system.
