Powder bag packaging machine lifts compensator, why is non-metal the right answer?

The lifting system of powder bag packaging machine deals with fine particles such as cement, lime powder and mineral powder every day. The dust is large, the wear is fast, and the lifting mechanism has to bear frequent up and down displacement and vibration. Under this working condition, it won't take long for traditional metal bellows or metal hoses to start fatigue cracking, and even be worn out by powder. What about that? Many manufacturers choose metal parts cheaply at first, but as a result, they have to change them once every three months, and the downtime loss is more than the equipment money.

Tell me the truth. Two days ago, I met a customer. The universal corrugated expansion joint used on the powder packaging line (that is, the one listed above in our station) was filled with powder in the trough, and the corrugated pipe stuck and deformed, and finally collapsed directly. After replacing it with the non-metallic expansion joint (fabric fiber expansion joint) in our station, it has been used for two years without any problems. And guess what? The customer later told me that the replacement labor and downtime losses saved alone would be enough to buy three more sets of equipment. So don't be superstitious about "metal is more durable". In a powder environment, soft connection is the last word.

Non-metallic expansion joints (also called fabric fiber expansion joints) and rubber compensators perform better in such scenarios. Using a multi-layer fabric and rubber composite structure, they can absorb multi-directional displacement-not only the axial displacement of up and down lifting, but also the lateral misalignment caused by thermal expansion and contraction of pipes and installation errors. More importantly, non-metallic materials are not afraid of powder wear, the surface is smooth and not easy to accumulate dust, and the vibration noise is much lower than that of metal parts. Hey, there is a detail: the metal bellows will make a harsh whistling sound when vibrated, while the rubber PTFE compensator is almost silent, and the workshop workers feedback is much more comfortable.

What's so special about the selection of materials? The inner layer in contact with the powder has to be coated with wear-resistant rubber or polytetrafluoroethylene-like the rubber PTFE compensator on our station, which is both anti-stick and anti-corrosion. The outer layer is reinforced with fabric fiber to ensure the strength, and an insulation layer can be added in the middle to cope with high-temperature materials (such as mineral powder above 80℃). The "non-metallic expansion joint (fabric fiber expansion joint)" and "rubber compensator" of this station can be customized according to different powder characteristics. The key is to balance sealing and wear resistance. For example: to deal with lime powder, a strong alkaline material, the inner layer has to be coated with fluororubber or PTFE, otherwise ordinary rubber will be corroded in one month.

When installing the lift compensator, the direction must not be reversed. Non-metallic expansion joints usually have flow direction marks (arrows) to prevent powder from pouring back into the fabric layer. In addition, enough compensation should be reserved for the lifting stroke, and the compensator should not be pulled to the limit. According to JB/T 12235-2015 standard, the compensation amount of non-metallic expansion joint is generally designed according to ±50mm in the axial direction and ±20mm in the transverse direction, but it depends on your hoist stroke and pipeline layout. In maintenance, check the surface wear and loose bolts once a week, and clean up the accumulated powder once every three months, which can basically reach the service life of 3-5 years. But then again, if you choose an inferior product, it may be wasted in half a year-this has little to do with what material you choose, it is purely the result of cutting corners.

Therefore, in the lifting system of powder ton bag packaging machine, the non-metallic compensator is not "making do", but the optimal solution. It is practical, durable and worry-free. Choosing the right product (such as our station's fabric fiber expansion joint or rubber compensator) can cut equipment downtime by more than half. Any more doubts? Welcome to directly flip through our product information or question and answer section, which has detailed instructions on the national standards and installation methods of non-metallic expansion joints. By the way, if you use the high-temperature and high-pressure working conditions of cement industry or power station industry, there are also high-temperature axial expansion joints and metal rectangular expansion joints available on our station-don't just focus on non-metals, but analyze the specific working conditions in detail.
