PTFE-lined hose

Product Introduction

Structure and Material

The main feature of PTFE-lined hose is that its interior is lined with tetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) material, which has excellent characteristics such as high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and low friction coefficient. PTFE-lined metal hoses are usually made of pure PTFE tubes, which are processed into spiral shapes by heat setting of molds. For small calibers (DN15 to DN250), dispersed polytetrafluoroethylene is usually used for manufacture; For large diameter (above DN50), it is made of wound PTFE tube with a tube thickness of about 1~3 mm.

Performance characteristics

PTFE-lined hoses have the following performance characteristics:

  1. Corrosion resistance: PTFE material has extremely high corrosion resistance and can operate stably in most corrosive media such as acid, alkali and salt.

  2. High temperature resistance: The PTFE material has excellent high temperature resistance and can remain stable at temperatures up to 200℃.

  3. Small friction coefficient: The PTFE material has a lower friction coefficient, which makes the PTFE-lined metal hose have lower energy consumption and lower operating cost when transporting media. In addition, the small friction coefficient also means that the PTFE-lined hose has better self-cleaning performance and is easy to maintain.

  4. Safety: The PTFE-lined hose has good safety, and its metal lining can withstand pressure to a certain extent to ensure the safe operation of the pipeline in harsh environment. At the same time, PTFE material itself is non-toxic, tasteless and pollution-free, which meets China's environmental protection requirements.

Fields of application

PTFE-lined hoses have a wide range of applications in a variety of industrial fields, including but not limited to:

  1. Chemical field: It is mainly used for transporting corrosive media such as acid, alkali and salt, and is also used in heat exchangers and pipeline systems in high-temperature occasions such as oil refining, petrochemical and fertilizer enterprises.

  2. Medicine field: Because the pharmaceutical industry has high requirements for the hygienic properties of materials, PTFE-lined hoses are widely used in piping systems in the pharmaceutical and bioengineering fields due to their excellent corrosion resistance and safety.

  3. Petroleum field: PTFE-lined hoses can be used in drilling, transportation and refining processes, such as in oil and gas transmission pipelines and pipeline systems in oil refineries.

  4. Electricity field: PTFE-lined hoses are mainly used in thermal systems, power stations and nuclear power plants to ensure the safe and stable operation of power systems.

  5. Environmental protection field: In wastewater treatment and waste gas discharge equipment, PTFE-lined hoses can withstand corrosive media, reduce operating costs and improve equipment life.

Installation & Maintenance

When installing PTFE-lined hoses, you need to pay attention to the following points:

  1. The other end of the stainless steel soft joint should be effectively fixed to the pipe away from the vibration source to isolate and absorb the vibration.

  2. When conducting electric welding at the construction site, the bellows should be effectively protected to prevent the welding slag from splashing the bellows.

  3. Stainless steel soft joints must be installed in a straight line and must not bend or translate.

  4. After installation, the nut and spare nut on the tie rod shall be locked tightly, the tie rod shall not be disassembled, and the nut shall be disassembled.

  5. The medium is non-corrosive to the metal hose material, and the chloride ion content of the medium is high ≤25ppm.

  6. The length of the product can be adjusted appropriately by the pull rod, and the adjustment amount shall not be greater than the specified value.

In summary, PTFE-lined hoses have become an indispensable part of modern industry due to their excellent performance and wide range of applications.
