Spherical compensator

Spherical compensator is a special type of compensator, which is mainly used to absorb the three-dimensional displacement caused by various factors (such as thermal expansion, mechanical vibration, ground subsidence, etc.) in pipeline system. The design of the spherical compensator enables it to perform displacement compensation in all directions, which is a significant difference from other types of compensators such as corrugated compensators or sleeve compensators.

Features of Spherical Compensator:

  1. Multi-directional compensation ability

  • The spherical compensator's ability to absorb the displacement of the pipe in the axial, lateral, and angular directions makes it particularly useful in complex terrain and high vibration environments.

  • High compensation

    • Has a large compensation amount, can handle the thermal expansion or contraction of long distance pipes, and reduce the need for fixing brackets.

  • No blind plate force

    • No blind plate force is created during the compensation process, meaning it does not impose additional loads on the piping system, reducing the requirements for fixed brackets.

  • Small fluid resistance

    • The internal structure of the spherical compensator is designed so that the resistance of fluid when passing is small, which is beneficial to maintain the flow efficiency of the system.

  • Long-term reliable sealing

    • Advanced sealing technologies such as injectable combination seals are used to ensure long-term reliable sealing performance and reduce the risk of leakage.

  • Easy to install

    • Compared with other compensators, the spherical compensator is simpler to install and takes up relatively less space.

    Use scenario:

Spherical compensators are widely used in a variety of industries, including but not limited to:

    • Petroleum and Chemical Industry: Pipeline system for processing crude oil, fuel oil, lubricating oil and other media.

    • Electricity: Pipeline systems for thermal power plants and nuclear power plants.

    • Metallurgy: Pipes for high temperature liquids and gases, such as cooling systems for blast furnaces and converters.

    • Building: Water supply, heating plumbing systems in buildings, especially in areas with ground subsidence risk.

    • National defense construction: Piping systems in special environments, such as rocket launch pads, aircraft exhaust facilities.

    Installation Notes:

    • Leak-proof: Make sure the spherical compensator is tightly connected to the pipe and reduce flanged connections to avoid leakage points.

    • anti-shedding frame: Ensure that the fixing bracket is firm and the pipe slide bracket has sufficient length and margin to cope with the thermal expansion and contraction of the pipe.

    • Spatial planning: In a limited space, rationally plan the location of the spherical compensator to ensure its proper operation.

These features and advantages of spherical compensators make them ideal for many industrial applications, especially in those situations where complex displacement modes and high stress conditions are dealt with.
